Welcome to Mullingar Sailing Club, located on the shore of Lough Owel.

Our aim is to promote fun sailing in a safe environment, teach sailing to all age groups and levels and run structured races for those who relish close competition. As an approved ISA Training Centre we run various courses throughout the season. Come and enjoy the experience of sailing.

Club Sailing

The club boat of choice for our adult sailors is the GP14. Sailed by two people with main, genoa and spinnaker sails. For our junior sailors, the club boat of choice is the Mirror, sailed by two people with mainsail, jib and spinnaker. Racing takes place Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons. If members prefer to sail at their own pace that is fine too. We provide safety boat cover at these times.

Mullingar Sailing Club introduces ‘New Adult Membership Programme’ at Open Day on 10th May

Are you looking for a new challenge? Ready to learn and develop new skills while participating in an active and exciting sport, all the while enjoying the great outdoors and joining in the fun of club activities?

Take to the water with us, and enjoy the exhilaration of sailboat racing, or the relaxation of a leisurely cruising, while taking in the scenic beauty and tranquility of Lough Owel.
Mullingar Sailing Club are looking forward to welcoming new members to the club during the 2026 season. We will be holding an Open Day on 10th May to show what we have to offer. Members will be on hand to demonstrate our boats, equipment and facilities, and to answer any questions you may have about the club.
We will also be introducing our new training programme for 2026. New members will be invited to participate in scheduled training sessions during June and July. They will also be supported by existing members via mentoring and crewing opportunities, to help them gain confidence and become regular participants in club activities.

Come and see us on 10th May from 2pm to 4pm and prepare for your next adventure!
