Sailing at Mullingar Sailing Club
Our adult sailors primarily sail the versatile and popular GP14, a two-person dinghy equipped with mainsail, genoa and spinnaker, offering everything from relaxed cruising to competitive racing.
For junior sailors, the Mirror dinghy remains a favourite, sailed by two people with a mainsail, jib and spinnaker, making it an excellent boat for learning and developing sailing skills.
A recent addition to our training fleet is the RS Zest. Stable, forgiving and easy to handle, the Zest is an ideal training boat for both junior and adult sailors. Its modern design helps beginners gain confidence quickly while providing a fun and rewarding sailing experience for those developing their skills.
Club racing takes place on Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons, offering plenty of opportunities for friendly competition and improvement. Members who prefer a more relaxed sail are equally welcome to enjoy the lake at their own pace. Safety boat cover is provided during organised club sailing and racing sessions, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone on the water.

Join us on 23 August for Mullingar Sailing Club's Annual Club Regatta, one of the highlights of our sailing season.
Club members will take to the water for a day of friendly racing and competition on beautiful Lough Owel. Family, friends, and visitors are warmly welcome to watch the racing from the shore and enjoy the atmosphere as we celebrate another great day of sailing.
