2024 Introduction to Sailing and New Membership for Adults.
Mullingar Sailing Club is actively seeking to recruit new members and will be holding an ‘Introduction to Sailing for Adults’ course on Lough Owel, Mullingar over two weekends on
June 1st-2nd and June 8th -9th 2024.
The course is aimed at adults keen to learn basic sailing skills and to develop them after the course through membership (included free for first year) and active participation in club sailing activities.
No previous sailing experience is required, however if you have sailed before this course will help you to progress at your own level. During the course you will also have the opportunity to meet and sail with some of our existing members, who will be happy to chat about sailing and club activities.

The course fee is €200 per person.
This fee includes membership to the Sailing Club up to 1st May 2025. We encourage all participants to continue their sailing experience by making use of club boats and/or sailing with existing members who may be looking for crew. A limited number of club boats may be available to lease at a nominal fee for 1 year.
Sailing is a weather dependent sport. Mullingar Sailing Club is not responsible for time lost due to adverse weather. Training will start at 10am and will finish at approximately 5pm each day. In the event of sailing days being lost due to adverse weather on either of the scheduled weekends, the course may continue on the weekend of 15th/16th June as a backup.
Participants should keep this weekend free.
Please bring your own lifejacket, wetsuit, splash/wind proof jacket, appropriate footwear (runners or bootswith good grip would suffice), and a packed lunch.
